If a compressed air system is to work at maximum efficiency, it stands to reason that the pipework needs to be in good order. Not only must it be devoid of leaks, it must allow compressed air to flow through the pipe smoothly, so avoiding turbulence and a subsequent pressure drop. Galvanised steel is the most popular pipework material, purely through the sheer time it has been in use. It is susceptible to corrosion and the rough interior surface that it creates can cause a significant pressure drop throughout the system that becomes worse with age. The solution - Transair.

Transair is a full flow, corrosion resistant pipework system available in both powder coated aluminium and stainless steel. Assembly is through rapid-fit, leak-proof connectors, with no threads or dyes as for galvanised pipework and no need for gluing, as with plastic. Transair is lightweight for ease of installation; the system is available in six sizes from 16.5mm - 101mm, with a range of components and accessories to allow systems to be tailored precisely to building and installation requirements.

All Transair fittings are interchangeable and reusable, with the powder-coated aluminium pipework suitable for compressed air, inert gases, and vacuum, whilst the stainless steel is suitable for applications such as process water.

All Transair components are guaranteed for 10 years.

All the components of the Transair aluminium compressed air pipe system conform to the following specifications

Suitable Fluids: Compressed air (dry, wet, lubricated), vacuum, inert gases (argon, nitrogen) and other fluids. For additional information please request a complete list of suitable fluids.

Working Temperature: -20°C to +60°C.

Maximum Working Pressure: 13 bar from -20°C to +60°C, 16 bar from -20°C to +45°C.

Vacuum Level: 98.7% (13 mbar absolute).

Lubricant Compatibility: Compatible with all types of mineral and synthetic compressor oils.

Resistant to: Corrosion, aggressive environments, mechanical shocks, thermal variations, UV and compressor oil carry over.

Fire Resistance: Components are non-flammable with no propagation of flame. Fittings in 40mm, 25mm, and 16.5mm conform toUL94HB. Fixing clips conform to UL94V-2. The fire resistance of the compressed air flexible hose conforms to NFM82271 and the vacuum versionto EN12115 flame resistant section.

Environment: Materials are 100% recyclable. Transair pipe, fittings and valves are guaranteed silicone free.

The flow characteristics through the Transair smooth bore aluminium are crucial in helping to reduce the pressure loss through the system; this in turn gives Transair optimum efficiency and energy savings on the pipework system.  With reducing carbon footprint and energy savings key topics for all companies, the Transair solution can give potential cost saving of up to 34% on old existing steel pipework systems.
